Treat yourself to a bag of one of our favourite and most interesting coffees that we roast here at Smokey Barn!

Grown on the slopes of the Nkanga Coffee farm in the mountainous Rulindo Region of Rwanda, a country still recovering from the devastating genocide of 1994. in 2012 the charity group A New Beginning built and set up the Kinini washing station in a previously uncultivated area of the Rwandan Savannah, which was built specifically to help the widowed women and orphaned children who were displaced there after the genocide. This is where our high quality Nkanga coffee beans are carefully washed and processed by hand. Since the build of the Kinini Washing Station, the charity has been able to generate enough money to build a school for the community, along with a health station and sustainable water source, helping to slowly rebuild the lives of so many families.

The resulting beans which have already produced Cup of Excellence lots, pervade notes of chocolate, blackberry, lemon and cherry. We wholeheartedly recommend this truly wonderful coffee which we are sure you will enjoy any time of the day.
